PRODUCT SAFETY PROCEDURE
BESTSELLER has a responsibility to ensure that our products always live up to the required safety standards. Should a product fail to do so it will be withdrawn or recalled from the market according to relevant legislation.
Managing Chemicals in Products and Materials
We have a strong focus on chemical management to verify that our finished products are meeting our stringent requirements, and to protect workers in the supply chain from hazardous chemicals. Chemical use is an integral part of the garment and footwear industry, with chemicals being used at all stages in production. Our Restricted Substances List (RSL) and Packaging Restricted Substances List (pRSL) catalogue chemicals that are banned and restricted in our final products (Both the RSL and pRSL can be found here). Through our Chemical Testing Programme, we regularly test all our products and materials at certified independent laboratories to ensure full compliance to our requirements, and reject products that do not meet these requirements. Our RSL has been developed by our internal chemical specialists, is updated yearly and is fully in-line with all global legislation.
BESTSELLER is a member of AFIRM group, whose mission is to reduce the use and impact of harmful substances in the apparel and footwear supply chain. By our engagement in AFIRM, we align with the industry on test methods and we cooperate on chemical investigations, legislative updates etc.
Physical requirements
Physical requirements are also part of product safety measures. Physical requirements relate usage and length of cords and drawstrings as well as product design in general. Therefore, we have included the physical aspects in our product safety process which is developed based on legislation, knowledge and experience.
If a product is currently withdrawn or recalled it will appear on this site.
